C. Esther De Wolde isn’t just the successful CEO of Phantom Screens. She loves southern charm, bringing people together, and checking items off her bucket list. The Southern Romance home, also known as The Morgan-Ford House, charmed Esther with its historical features and over a hundred years of southern history. She was able to restore this home back to its former glory and bring life and joy back into the beautiful space.
This home became the ultimate getaway for Esther, and as CEO of Phantom Screens, she knew they had to be added to the home. With motorized screens with dual rollers to keep out the humidity and the bugs and two door screens for easy, seamless fresh air.
History of the Families of 257 Rapier Avenue
In 1906 Mr. Sprague built the house that resides on 257 Rapier Ave. In 1915, he sold the home to Mr. and Mrs. James Morgan. The Morgan family lived there until the 1940s, when the Ford family purchased it, made up of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas A Ford and two of their three children. 2014 is where we find our story, when the Ford estate sold the home to Phantom Screen’s CEO C. Esther De Wolde and where her Southern Romance project began.
Let’s take this outside…
As part of this historic home renovation, the designers wanted to open all the living spaces to the outdoors without taking away from the traditional design. Finding a way to keep out those pesky southern pests and add uninterrupted views and design was easy with the addition of Phantom Screens. This home will make anyone ‘as happy as a hog in mud.’
This back porch is enclosed with Phantom’s fully customizable motorized screens dual roller system. This allows for “the best of both worlds!” Use the mesh screens when you want to keep the bugs out and let the fresh air flow or lower the vinyl screens to keep out the humidity on hot summer days or keep in the heat on cooler nights.
Phantom’s retractable window screens were installed on the home’s original windows. So discreet, they don’t detract from the home’s original southern charm and maintain the appeal and heart of the home. With customizable options, you never have to worry about interrupting your home’s design, compromising historical framing, or blocking views.
You’ll hardly notice the Installation process when your new screens are installed. We stand proudly behind our stance on “never DIY, always WDIFY” (we do it for you). Besides, we know what we’re doing. We’ve had over 30 years to work out all the bugs (literally). Backed by our industry-leading limited lifetime warranty, having fresh air installed is easy-breeze-y.
108 years of History- Before & After
